Algorithmic Disgorgement

In response to concerns about AI and data usage, proposals for an AI and data commissioner, similar to bodies seen in the EU, are being considered. This commissioner, though a senior bureaucrat, would hold oversight responsibilities, including audits and documentation demands, with the power to shut down systems posing serious risks of imminent harm, a measure also seen in the US with the FTC's algorithmic disgorgement approach.
